Having no peace of mind
I went through the city
The rain had just started
Arriving at the square
Crowded with people
Some with masks
But most without
Drinking beer and congregating
The tedious quarantine
Had been to no avail
We went on like life was
Normal but still very strange
A lot of old people dying
Inside secluded institutions
Filling up the morgue
And keeping the undertakers busy
The almost empty underground
And few old people in the street
Keeping their distance
Told us that
The summer that would be different
The journey then became one of fear
And curiosity
We did not know why we were here
And what our role would be
All bets seemed open
