Anxiety on Ice

Sometimes you are trapped

In your anxiety and worry

Fearing the worst

Expecting the apocalypse

But in reality

Nothing happened

You are trapped by

Your own fantasy

Into a world of horror

When this happened

A hundred times it is

Recognisable

Decisions

Choices are difficult things

Options that are not true options

Just another maze of actions

Leading to obscure futures

And foreseeable patterns of repetition

Once I saw myself as a free man

Now I doubt that very much

Time will not tell nor heal any wounds

Hope

What hope is there left

What options are there

Known or unknown

The sun still rising

Christ has left his cave

A Better World

Dreaming of a better world

Where we don’t

Have to live in fear

Of losing, fear of

Not being accepted

Without starvation,

Without repression

A world of light, a world of darkness

Like a paradox, a conundrum

The answer is not in the dream

But beyond it, far of in another future

Where we all meet again

Perspective

It is different to become older

Your perspective changes

The future becomes the past

In reality, creating a paradox

Whatever you do, knowing

That it will not result in a bright

And better future just more

Ability to carry the burden

Of being oneself

Past Future

I did see the future come and go

Once, twice and a third time

Remembering the past

Getting stuck in what was

Unable to protect or act

Repeating the story and memory

Now again the future is here

Like a grey sky early in the spring
